Explode From The Center was preceded by a series of 12" / digital singles: Stand In A Line (April 28); I Feel Electric (May 19); Diamonds on Fire / Dreamhunt (June 16). The just-released Diamonds... single also marks the debut of the track "Dreamhunt," a new recording for 2009. There will be a video for the track as well. Rubies music is a mix of danceable folk, bedroom disco, and lost love laments, as showcased by stand out tracks "I Feel Electric," "Stand in a Line," "Diamonds on Fire," "The Truth and The Lies," and "Room Without a Key." Explode... was co-produced by Rubies and Karl - Jonas Winqvist (Blood Music, First Floor Power). The album also features guest appearances from Winqvist, Eirik Glambek-Be (Kings of Convenience), Maria Eriksson (The Concretes), Feist, Dan Judd (Sorcerer), and Lars Skoglund (Lykke Li & Peter, Bjorn & John).
Explode From The Center and "I Feel Electric (Remix)" single won raves from respected media outlets worldwide including Vice, Esquire, Artrocker, the Sunday Times, i-DJ, Mixmag, FACT, The Fader and many more. "I Feel Electric(Remix)" was also released via 12" single on NYC's Italians Do It Better last year. The album has been released in UK, Europe & Australia (Telle), Japan (Rallye) and individual territories including Sweden (Hybris), Germany, Austria, and Switzerland (Modern Soul).
