Guster Brings Back the Power Pop

The announcement of a new Guster album is the best unexpected news of 2003. I jest out of love. Any alt-rock lover who came of age in the late 90s/early 2000s has a soft spot in their heart for these Boston stalwarts. The band's announced their latest LP, Evermotion, which is due out in 1/13 of next year. It's their first album since 2010's Easy Wonderful (which in turn was a four year hiatus from 2006's Ganging Up on the Sun). The group's dropped a single and B-side for the record, "Simple Machine" & "Long Night." I prefer th e B-Side, "Long Night," out of the two, but they're both throwbacks to the power pop that made Guster famous in the first place with enough modern sonic textures to fit in with today's market.
