Nick Jonas's Career Is In A New 'Area Code'

Huh. Nick Jonas is in the midst of a major reinvention, isn't he? After the twerking and sexist sexual objectification of his "Levels" video, Jonas has already dropped a new song (that he performed for the first time at this weekend's Made In America festival. Related, whoever thought that Nick Jonas would wind up on the festival circuit?), and the track "Area Code," sounds more like a Drake song than anything I would have ever expected from the former Jonas Brother heartthrob. There's lots of vocoder -- used for an intentional aesthetic effect because it's not like Nick can't sing -- and self-loathing and references to abusing alcohol. I wasn't expecting this, but color me interested.
