Syro, the first new record from legendary electronica producer Aphex Twin in 13 years, is due out on Warp Records on September 14th. People are... excited to say the least. Selected Ambient Works: Vol. II is one of the best electronic records ever made, and Richard D. James has suitably high expectations to live up.

Somehow, it slipped under our radar, but last week, Aphex Twin released his first proper single since Drukqs came out in 2001. I don't know how to react to the bizarrely titled "minipops 67 [120.2][source field mix]" without the context of the rest of the record. But this is as Aphex Twin sounding as you can imagine, and we're even more excited to figure out where he's heading with the rest of Syro.
