Sting and Common Take A Crack At The Police Classics

Thanks to the internet, we get a chance to hear all sorts of great music remixed, and great artists' work has traveled through time to create collaborations and make brand new beautiful pieces. Common joined Sting at the Global Citizen Fest and together they performed amped up versions of "Every Breath You Take" and "One World Is Enough". What makes this particular combination more substantial than your average collab is that Sting & The Police's whole sound has always been so strongly influenced by reggae that a good rap actually lends itself to the music very naturally...not to mention Sting's bass chops allow the band to provide an ideal rhythm section for a good rapper, and Common managed to stay original without at all detaching from the still relevant messages and content of those great Police songs. So give it a watch or a listen if you're a fan of solid hip hop or rock and roll.
