Chicago based rock band, Twin Peaks
, have been shredding on stages since 2009 and although you might think the 4-piece doesn't give much thought to their show fashion, but bassist/singer, Jack Dolan, had a thing or two to share with the Baeble about the evolution of their style and his thoughts on today's fashion rules.
Check out our five question Q&A to get a closer look on what's really going on in their closets.
Who did you look to growing up for cool fashion inspiration?
Well, we grew up in the age of Tony Hawk's pro skater and Warped Tour, so I remember in particular those kind of bands. Green Day, Blink 182, Sum 41, Rancid, The Offspring etc. You name a punk band from that era and I wanted to be like them. Especially look like them. Lookin' like a skate rat was my thing back then - tore up tight jeans, tight t-shirt, lots of wristbands, a pair of converse, I even dyed my hair purple for a little bit. Things have changed haha.
What do you think is your signature look?
Since I was a kid I've had holes in my jeans from all sorts of shit. It just happens. It's like getting scars and it still happens cause my life is still crazy.
How would you describe the music scenes current style?
The current "look" of the scene seems like a big ass free for all. I don't have any particular style I'm trying to go for, I don't think the rest of the dudes do either. That reflects on our music. We throw clothes on and we rock and roll, and sweat, and get dirty, but that's our thing. Plenty of artist's fashion style represents who they are as people and performers, but there's no particular standard of style in my opinion. A white t-shirt is just as legit as a suit!
So how would you describe the band's style?
Our style is the same vibes as our music. A little throwback and a little bit current garage scene. T-shirts, flannels, jeans, whatever we got we throw it on and go out to battle. It's not something we think about too much.
Do you have any must have staple items in your closet?
All my jeans are Levi's. They're the only pants I don't have to worry about taking on tour through all that wear and tear, dirt, beer, and sweat. They stay intact and comfortable no matter what. It's like rock and roll armor!
