Pumped full of drums, and hopefully - their patented distorted guitar riffs, The Silversun Pickups have returned with new stuff. Three years after releasing Carnavas, the Los Angelinos are set to release their follow up album - titled Swoon - sometime in 2009. The recording process began mid July and has diligently been worked on throughout their world tour. Hopefully, being in places like Japan and Toronto during the project has had some interesting, new influences on the record.
For those somehow unfamiliar with the band, The Silversun Pickups hail from Silver Lake, California - home to the late Elliot Smith, as well as acts such as Rilo Kiley, the Eels and even Tom Waits. Still recording for Dangerbird, The Pickups can next be seen playing Austin City Limits this Sunday, September 28th. - Xavier Bustos
