It's Labor Day Weekend in America, which means a whole bunch of us will be hopelessly clinging to summer with barbecues and poolside boozing, or just boozing. Whatever the locale for your weekend party, we've got the soundtrack to do it right; a bunch of new tunes impacting this fall from a bunch of hotly anticipated albums. Fall into the mixtape, because you definitely don't want to do some other previously suggested falling

1. "Romance" - Wild Flag - Wild Flag
Carrie Brownstein is good at music. The former Sleater-Kinney lady couldn't stay away, even with the promise of Portlandia
leading to more comedic gigs (maybe) and THANK GOODNESS. The chorus of this song is every bit of evidence you need to know her new project Wild Flag kind of rocks. The debut is out 9/13 on Merge Records.
2. "Hangin On" - Active Child - You Are All I See
There is something simultaneously calming and alarming about Active Child's new record, a sensation you can get a snippet of here but should probably experience for yourself. It's out now on Vagrant.
3. "I Wanna Meet Dave Grohl" - Wavves - Life Sux EP
Wavves just keep getting better and better, especially dropping this nugget a day after he almost actually met Dave Grohl (both attended the VMAs, one was on a lot of drugs, I'll let you guess which one). This EP is out 9/20 on iTunes and vinyl.
4. "Your Love Is Callin My Name" - The War On Drugs - Slave Ambient
If this song doesn't get your blood pumping, you might want to check your pulse. For more thoughts on The War on Drugs, please read up
5. "Interlude (ft. Tech N9ne and Andre 3000)" - Lil Wayne - Tha Carter IV
The first time (and one of the only times) we remember being impressed by Tha Carter IV
was this track, taking Lil Wayne's intro music and taking it to a place that was somewhat interesting. Love the uncredited appearance by Andre 3000, when is that guy going to do something big again?
6. "Heart's All Gone" - Blink 182 - Neighborhoods
Trust us when we say we never thought in a million gajillion years we'd be hearing a new Blink 182 song, let alone plugging it on a new music mixtape, or having it connected an entire new album of songs. Yikes. That being said, it feels great to be twelve again for like three minutes.
7. "The Same Thing" - Cass McCombs - Humor Risk
This is Cass McCombs' second album of 2011, what have you done lately? Seriously though, we're glad to have more of McComb's gently jovial look at "chaos instead of morality". It's out 11/8 on Domino.
8. "Lights Out" - Childish Gambino - EP
Between the disappointments of Watch The Throne
and Tha Carter IV
, we were in need of some seriously promising up-and-coming rap talent. Good thing we've been following it since April
9. "Miranda" - Surfer Blood - Tarot Classics EP
Nothing like a little Surfer Blood to hang on to the last drops of summer! Note: this EP is out in October, so by then it'll be more like reminicising. Get used to it.
10. "Let Go" - Everest - On Approach
We filmed these guys last year at CMJ
and must have listened to this song like a billion times in the office, the iTunes playcount is outrageous, it totally rules. It very much says fall to us, so here it is.
