Long before he was Scooby's stoned bud Shaggy, Matthew Lillard was a blue-mohawked punk from Salt Lake City. James Merendino's film, SLC Punk released in 1998 introduced a generation of MTV-sick cynical teens to a long-enduring counter cultural movement that would surely piss off their parents. Today, City Weekly posted an interview with Merendino, who discusses the classic flick's impending sequel (which will be about the aftermath of Heroin Bob's death), and its faithful army of Facebook fans. Also included was a 'then and now' pictorial featuring a look 15 years later at the film's landmark locations. Check out a few below, and read the full article here.
