Between Arcade Fire charity basketball games and, um, nothing else in the news, it's not a huge surprise the wires are really reaching. Now trending as most blogged, Julian Casablancas is fronting a men's fragrance from French line Azzaro called "Decibel". It's modeled after a microphone (deciLOL). Pitchfork was even thorough enough to include a description of the perfume, which "features top notes of licorice and Amalfi lemon, middle notes of violet and base notes of tonka bean and vanilla." God damn Labor Day in America.
It certainly does make sense that Julian would front anything, given his boyish good looks and likable talent as the voice of one of the most beloved rock bands of the last decade. Youtube commenter "Harry Muse" has a point though, "Doesn't he smell like? alcohol?"
OK then. Is Strokes V ready yet?
