Long-running angsty alt rockers Placebo
are set to release their seventh studio album, Loud Like Love
next month, and today they unleashed its first official music video for "Too Many Friends". The song possesses an optimistic tone unlike most Placebo tunes, but faithful fans worry not, it's as lyrically dismal as any throwback. The brow-furrowing opening line, "My computer thinks I'm gay," made the video's use of Bret Easton Ellis as its narrator all too ideal. The author of great tales of debauchery and death like Less Than Zero
and American Psycho
also suits the bizarre bourgeois theme of the video, which was filmed in the hills above LA on Mulholland Drive. Watch below.
