The ethereal kids of Sigur Ros have casually taken on the role of modern-day art patrons through their "Valtari Mystery Film Experiment." The rules of the game: they have given 12 independent film-makers modest budgets to create visual accompaniments to one track off their latest album, Valtari. This was, of course, in lieu of the run-of-the-mill glamor shot music videos that bands of lesser artistic virtue flock to.

The latest music video to emerge from the series accompanies the track "Varuo," which translates in English to "Caution." Directed by Ryan McGinley, the film uses a slow-paced camera to follow a sparkly gold-haired, barefooted girl as she languidly skips about a busy city. Low budgets didn't stop McGinley from employing all sorts of interesting camera angles, and, within its simplicity, the film captures a beautiful and lonesome feel of city life. Best served with whimsy and a cup of tea.
