StubHub has devised the newest way to find concerts, and most importantly available tickets for them, at venues near you. The eBay-owned company launched its very own StubHub Music app, which automatically checks out your iTunes library to recommend live shows by artists on your iPod, and artists similar to them that you may like. The app also allows you to edit and add locations for show recommendations, and has a radius dial to manually set how far you're willing to venture out to see your favorite singer perform.
Once you've selected a show, the app then allows you to purchase your ticket. It not only directs you to StubHub, but to other ticket sites as well, such as Eventbrite and AXS. The goal of the app is not to increase StubHub's revenue, but rather to form relationships with music fans, and to help and encourage them to attend live shows — with StubHub's name attached, of course. The app also sends notifications to your phone when an artist featured on your iPod books a date near you, and allows you to invite friends to an event through iMessage, email, Twitter, or Facebook.
The StubHub Music app is currently only available for iPhones, and can be downloaded for free from the App Store.
