Matthew Houck, a.k.a.
Phosphorescent, has wooed a lot of folks with his tender, heartfelt country folk tunes...not the least of which include both
ourselves, and er...Willie Nelson. Seems Houck's tribute to the redheaded stranger (
To Willie) made a fan out of the very subject he was paying his homage to...so much so Phosphorescent was invited to perform on Willie's Sirius/XM show on the legend's 76th birthday. Now comes news that Matthew has been invited to perform at Farm Aid alongside other luminaries like Neil Young, Dave Matthews, John Mellancamp, and of course, Mr. Nelson himself later this October.
In addition Phosphorescent are preparing to write the next chapter of their so far, so good kind of story. Having just spent the last few months holed up in a studio, the band will be bring new and old material alike to a variety of cities this Fall, kicking off a nice little tour with a hometown performance in Brooklyn.
