To celebrate the release of their LP
Something in Japan this week,
Chairlift made a Japanese version of the album's first single, "I Belong in Your Arms." Caroline Polachek lived in Tokyo as a child, which probably explains why Japan is getting this special treatment. Somehow, the song ends up being almost better than the original, as if it was actually meant to be a Japanese pop song. The accompanying video meanwhile -- which is green-screen-karaoke style (featuring Polachek with a great hairdo) -- is yet another addition to Chairlift's resume of
brilliant music videos.
