In a country that treats health care like a business instead of a public utility, it's little wonder that so many people fall through the cracks of not just direct health care but necessary investment in research and treatment of major health problems. And for former Jack's Mannequin frontman, Andrew McMahon, experience with those cracks in the system came first hand when he was diagnosed with cancer at age 22. Though McMahon was able to receive stem cell treatment and experienced a full recovery, not every young adult sufferer of cancer is as fortunate.
