I still get really sad whenever I think about the fact that Girls doesn't exist anymore because Father, Son, Holy Ghost is still one of the best records of the 2010s. That said, Christopher Owens was the driving creative force of the band, and he's still releasing new music of his own, so there's that. And while few people were going as crazy for Owen's solo debut, Lysandre last year as they were for Girls' output, new single "Never Wanna See That Look Again" finds Owens working in that 60s acid-pop vein that is so clearly his metier. Here's to hoping that A New Testament is more of this.
