London four-piece indie-rock band, The Hunna, are having one hell of a year since they introduced themselves to the world in October of last year. They signed to American independent record label, 300 Entertainment, sold out shows across America, and today, they've released their debut-album 100. The album is full of sun-drenched guitar riffs, feel-good jams and carefree rock with an indie aesthetic.
Here's a Baeble exclusive track-by-track explanation from the guys of The Hunna about how the songs from their new album, 100 came about and it's full of middle fingers in the air and being young, wild and free.
We've had this song for around 4 years. We've grown as people with the track. It's about the transitional phase in a relationship... When the good can turn bad. And dealing with the situations
"We Could Be"
Trials and tribulations of making it in this music industry. If you put your mind to it... Anything is possible. Middle finger to the man. YOU CAN DO IT.
It's more of a fantasy, about the perfect person. The ultimate ONE. Amazing to play live, when the crowd sing it for you, nothing beats that feeling.
"You & Me"
A song back to the fans of how much we appreciate the support along the way. About us and everyone involved, we are a family. The squad. The team. The fans.
That feeling when you're infatuated by someone new they bring out the best in you.
"Piece by piece"
This song was the longest to put together, it's changed through the years with us. A different vibe to the album. A euphoric track... One that you can funk to.
The story behind this, is a relationship you give your all to. No matter how good or bad it get, or how much you love the person... sometimes it's never enough.
The concept came from a video idea... Picture cruising down a road, convertible, angry with a lover. Sin City all the way.
This song was a dream Tino had about Dan dying. And the next day, he couldn't get it out of his head and had to rush to see him to make sure the dream wasn't real. A scary day, we had to write a song about it.
"World is ours"
One of our festival bangers. Crowd cheering. Fireworks banging. Basically the song is about always believing in yourself and seizing the day. As long as you believe the world is YOURS.
A soulful track that's a sniper to the heart. When we wrote the song, we knew instantly that it needed to be the last song on the album. It means a lot to all of us.
"Still got blood"
A true story about a conversation Tino had on the phone with someone as he came off stage. Always wanting to call him but never wanting to call back.
"Bad for you"
This song is our ultimate favourite to play live... Hence why it's always the last song in our set. We hit it HARD. It's written from a girls perspective to someone in our position being away a lot. And being totally theirs.
A tour song, having someone back home friend/lover. About not having to worry. It was written in a film aspect. We had a visual of a film concept and we wrote it around that.
You're only young once. The message is to young people about them not freaking out and worrying about their future. Experience life and find out who they are.
"Rock my way"
We wanted to write a track that was a different vibe to the write. We wanted a rock'n'roll fun song. About a rock'n'roll lifestyle.
