Kevin Devine Wistfully Realizes The Cure's 'Lovesong'

If you ask somebody for their list of the 10 greatest albums ever made and Disintegration doesn't rear its head somewhere, you shouldn't take that person's list seriously. I know that the persona of Robert Smith and the Cure is goth melancholia but I'm hard pressed to name a more painfully beautiful record than Disintegration. Clearly, Kevin Devine is also a fan. As part of his Devinyl Splits program (where he works with fellow alt-rockers on a split 45), Kevin released a gorgeous cover of "Lovesong." Kevin once did an entire album cover of Nevermind, and after this, I kind of want to hear him tackle all of Disintegration.

And be sure to check out our exclusive session with Kevin's side project (with Manchester Orchestra), Bad Books.
