Ellie Goulding is one of the only artists who's truly grasped the art of mixing indie pop sensibilities with mainstream ones. Her song "Lights" came out of nowhere to be one of the songs of this summer (thankfully it took our minds off of that song that had to do with phone calls) and when she wasn't on the radio she was dropping indie covers of
The Weeknd. "Anything Could Happen," the first single off her upcoming album
Halcyon, suggests that she's gonna keep pulling the best from both worlds with her music. We can already tell that this club-ready anthem with Passion Pit-like vocal samples is going to get pop and indie fans jumping.
Listen below and get to marching.
Halycon is out in the US on 10/9.
