Call it a comeback. For the spirited fans of
Land of Talk's fuzzy, power-pop nostalgia, the last year or so has certainly been a frustrating one. Yes, the band did release their excellent sophomore release
Some Are Lakes towards the end of '08. But
Elizabeth Powell's sweet and subtle rasp also took its' toll on the singer this past year, sidelining her and the band as she spent months recovering from a vocal ailment.
Fully recovered, recent news from
Saddle Creek confirms Land of Talk are ready once again to be a band, preparing both a new EP, as well as a west coast tour to compliment the release.
Word is the CD version of the
Fun and Laughter EP will come packed in a limited edition, screen print package, only made available at
CIMS Indie retailers, tour venues, as well as label/band websites. They'll also be selling a few concert ticket/EP bundles available this Saturday, August 22nd at
landoftalk.com. It's also the same day general tickets for the tour go on sale.
Sadly, fans on the East Coast will have to wait just a little while longer to catch the band, but rest assured some dates will be scheduled in the near future. Full track listing and tour dates are offered below. -
