Back in 1990, the LA Times
ran a story
about Dean Zimmer, a then 28-year-old man who overcame a rare, crippling birth defect to totally kick ass on the drums. He was born with arthrogryposis, a disorder that severely restricts joint movement in his arms and legs. It's not what you'd describe as a 'drum-friendly' disorder. Fast forward 23 years, and we see Zimmer's still overcoming adversity and proving everyone wrong by doing what he loves. YouTube user a story
recently uploaded a look inside Dean's everyday life where he tells the story about showing up for a 'Drummer Wanted' advertisement.
