A beatific brother and sister duo hailing from Australia, this musical union among siblings had a somewhat overlooked debut when
A Book Like This washed upon our shores a couple years back. Word is a follow-up titled
Down the Way is having a smashing run on the charts back home, currently holding down the spot for Australia's best seller of the year.
All of which means it's time for
Angus and Julia Stone to take another shot at North America. The band is set to return this fall with dates that include shows at the El Rey and Austin City Limits, among others. They also have a new video that stretches out to the tune of "Hold On"; a song that turns the volume up just a bit, queuing lush orchestral swells, with dramatic effect. In the
Kiku Ohe directed piece, the two musicians gaze over an out of focus landscape that stretches to the horizon. It all looks like an introspective jaunt into the wild, with the two looking to the barren surroundings for a little internal navigation of sorts. In the end though, it appears a much dour reality, with the plot line taking on an actual fight for survival. Perhaps the two didn't like what they saw? Not the case when it comes to this video though. It's well worth a watch. -
