After hopping from electro-pop to a country twang sound,Piney Gir, AKA ex-pat Angela Penhaligon, seemed to finally find her niche with her sun-faded retro pop album Geronimo!, which got a UK-only release in 2011. The all out Go-Go boots (with a little bit of punch) affair is now slated to hit US shelves on 10/16 via Highline Records and you can get a first taste here with the kooky lead track, "Outta Sight." Piney Gir's melody, whimsy, and pop could have easily made the poodle-skirt-wearing tweens of American Bandstand shuffle, and that nostalgic sound translates extremely well to 2012. After all, if Piney Gir's buzzing electric guitars and relentlessly charming vocals were enough to brighten up the UK, we gotta think they'll be enough to make us Americans cheery.
