I don't really understand what's going on here. I don't understand the appeal of Taylor Swift...maybe if you're into really passive-aggressive white feminist inauthenticity, she's up your alley, but when it comes to Tay-Tay, I'm a hard pass. But for alt-country icon Ryan Adams, his feelings are apparently the opposite. A couple weeks back, Ryan Adams announced that he was doing a cover of Taylor's most recent album, 1989, and yeah, why not? This is the man that made Heartbreaker; of course, he should be tackling bubblegum pop. What better way to turn "indie" into a spectacle like having the dude who wrote "Come Pick Me Up" performing "Shake It Off." I just hope he recreates the video too...
Ryan Adams recently shared a teaser on Twitter for his take on "Bad Blood." I've never heard the original (yes, I'm a Luddite, I know) so I don't particularly know how Adams' take stacks up, but it's definitely still Ryan Adams at the end of the day.
