It's been a while since we've heard from Mice Parade
. It's been 3 (three!) years since the release of their self-titled album. But they have a new album out in September AND a new track for your ears today.
The album is called What It Means To Be Left-Handed
and the track is "In Between Times". It features Temporary Residence artist Caroline Lufkin on vocals. Her range is chill-inducing, as is her quick-paced duet with Mice Parade's Adam Pierce. The song then quickly breaks into a psuedo-African rhythmic interplay between Pierce and drummer Doug Scharin.
Mice Parade was originally the solo project of New Yorker Pierce, who has also played in Swirlies, The Dylan Group, HiM, mm, and Philistines Jr. While Pierce plays and sings the bulk of this latest effort, he has a variety of guests for his fall shows. Joining him on the road for this leg of the band's North American tour will be Caroline Lufkin (Caroline), Dan Lippel, Doug Scharin (Rex, Enablers), and Josh Larue (Played Tomorrow, Sorts).
What It Means To Be Left-Handed
is due out 9/14 on FatCat Records. -hanna kasper
