Bleachers' video for its song "Like a River Runs" off the album Strange Desire illustrates Jack Antonoff's experience in live concert. Perhaps it is because the energy is entirely real, as is Antonoff's chemistry with the writhing audience, that the video is so mesmerizing. He dives into the crowd, he leaps around the stage, he raises his guitar above his head. The warmth and intimacy of the video reflects the lyrical content of the song, which matches the video in energy and very well could have been directed at an audience. "And if you see me in the darkness/I hope you know I'm not alone/I carry you with every breath I take," Antonoff sings as the concert ends and the crowd is half-buried under a spray of white confetti. The concert may have been a transient experience, but the video memorializes the things that can only last in the mind and heart.
