David Gordon Green's new film Prince Avalanche, is already in select theaters, but we can't wait to stroll down the block to the IFC Center to see the new flick starring Paul Rudd and Emile Hirsch. If you're not familiar with the name David Gordon Green, he's the director who stood at the helm of a few [relatively] recent comedies like Pineapple Express and Your Highness, but according to his new work's trailer, the director also harbors a dramatic touch. This could be seen in his work as the director of HBO's Eastbound and Down, which on its surface is brutally hilarious, but is twisted around a plot of desolation.
From the looks of Prince Avalanche Green seems to have found a middle ground between the ridiculously funny and emotionally poignant. The story follows two guys who spend their summer together, working in solitude re-painting country road traffic lines. Yeah, it's not the most dynamic plot, but we're sure the combination of these two actors shine through as its turned heads at some of the world's most bougie film festivals.
Oh, and did we mention that the film is scored by renowned post-rockers Explosions in the Sky? Watch below.
