The Suburbs debuted at the number one spot on the Billboard charts. I'm sure there is some grand statement to be made about this and mainstream music and whatever, but honestly I'm just really happy for them. We
loved it.
The record sold 156,000 copies, just beating out Eminem's
Recovery for the top spot. Their previous best was a #2 debut with
Neon Bible in 2007.
The Suburbs also hit number one on Billboard's UK and Digital Sales charts and was the top selling album on iTunes. DAYUM.
The kids can have their cake and eat it this week. -
