Maybe it's too much incidental watching of the AMC Mob Week movie marathon, or the older gent in a white suit saying "Michael" repeatedly, but this party reeks of organized crime underneath the hopeless romance. That might be just me. The song "Constant Conversations," like a whole bunch of Passion Pit's Gossamer is deeply personal -- and one look at the eyes of lead singer Michael Angelakos in the video is enough to see the sincerity in his words. We already know he loves sporting a suit, but there's some emotional turmoil going on beneath the glitzy surface of smokes and booze. Try to figure it out for yourself.

The video was directed by Dori Oskowitz, and it features actor/director Peter Bogdanovich (The Last Picture Show, The Sopranos), which might further explain my mafioso hunch.
