The Rise and Fall of the Clash, a new documentary about
The Clash, premiered at the
CBGB festival last night. The film was directed by Danny Garcia and co-produced by David Mingay, who worked on the 1980 Clash film
Rude Boy. The documentary follows the band's rise into success during the 1970s followed by their infamous break-up.
Garcia continues to work on the film, after shooting over a three year period. In the film, he interviewed friends and those who knew the band members during that time, trying to uncover what brought one of the biggest British bands down. The interviews include Pete Howard, Vince White and Nick Sheppard, but only one original Clash member, Mick Jones. We'll have to wait and see what the rest of The Clash, the critics and loyal fans have to say about the film.
