Before The Shins were the infamous Shins, they were an indie-rock group called Flake Music. The only true differences between the two bands are that, as Flake Music, they were a little less experienced a little less successful. The one and only album Flake Music released was their 1997 LP When You Land Here Its Time To Return, which was recently rediscovered by record labels Sub Pop and Aural Apothecary.

Now that the Shins are a Grammy-nominated and Billboard-chart topping phenomenon, the two record labels are remixing the album to give it a second chance at success. Its original tracks are similar to many of The Shins' hits today, just with noticeably rawer, unpolished sounds. Once enhanced and freshened up, we can't wait to hear the result. The reissue of When You Land Here Its Time To Return will be released November 28th. Until then, check out the original version of the album below.
