Only Beck Could Fuse Michael Jackson and T.Rex

As a little holiday bonus to the new Beck single, we've got footage of the alt-rocker performing a fusion of two throwback songs at the Days Off Festival in Paris last night. The cover begins with the classically catchy base line from Michael Jackson's "Billie Jean", and Beck smoothly and surely sneaks in the anthemic chorus from T.Rex's 70s hit "Bang A Gong (Get It On)". It's pretty rare to see an artist cover two different songs at the same damn time, and when an artist as creative and ingenuitive as Beck steps up to the plate, you should probably check it out.

Beck will be playing in London tomorrow night accompanied by Jarvis Cocker and Franz Ferdinand, among others. Be on the lookout for footage from the show, as he will be debuting live performances from his new sheet music booklet Song Reader.
