This year's Global Citizen Festival
is taking over NYC's Central Park with a quality lineup including Kendrick Lamar, Selena Gomez, Rihanna, and Major Lazer. If seeing these huge artists live doesn't motivate you to help make a difference in the world, then we're pretty sure nothing will... And then the Earth will fall apart into a black abyss and... Well, we're getting off track.
Back to the festival, Chris Martin, Coldplays frontman, signed on to curate the show for the next 15 years. He begun his curating magic at last years festival and landed some pretty sweet talent like Beyonce and Ed Sheeran.
And just when we thought it couldn't get better, it's also for a great cause. The festival aims to "harness actions from millions of Global Citizens around the world to hold world leaders accountable to the progress made toward achieving the Global Goals set out by the United Nations last year," the festival said in a statement. The Global Citizen festival has initiated an education campaign that allows fans to earn festival entry by "completing actions to help promote and ensure that equitable and quality education is available to all, particularly refugee children and access for girls & women," organizers said.
Other acts set to take the stage at the festival include Metallica, Usher, Eddie Vedder, Ellie Goulding, Yandel, and Yusuf / Cat Stevens.
