When
Moving Units stoked up LA dance floors in 2002 with their home town blend of east coast disco punk, they were met by the kind of good fortune most young bands only dream of ever getting a taste of. With a label deal in their pocket, and a slew of critical acclaim, things looked great for the band
then they abruptly fell apart. The bands label folded, and amongst the collapse came rumors of a break up.
Thankfully, the southern California band decided to forge ahead and navigate the perilous challenges of an industry that did not really know what it was becoming. They also added guitarist
Victor Velazquez to round out their sound.
Fortunately, it seems, once again, that it may be Moving Units time. Having recently signed to
Metropolis, the band is prepping their sophomore album,
Hexes for Exes, for an October 9th release.
In Addition, the band has been hand-picked to open for Smashing Pumpkins at San Franciscos Fillmore Auditorium on Wednesday July 25.
