Pearl Jam' s
lead vocalist Eddie Vedder has been in a political spotlight over the past few weeks. While on tour in Europe, Vedder declared multiple anti-war statements, which many fans depicted as anti-Israel. Last week, Vedder further emphasized his anti-war stance through a letter he published on Pearl Jam's website. Framed with quotations from John Lennon's "Imagine," Vedder proclaimed, "When attempting to make a plea for more peace in the world at a rock concert, we are reflecting the feelings of all those we have come in contact with so we may all have a better understanding of each other. That's not something I'm going to stop anytime soon."
On Friday, Vedder embraced the lyrics of Lennon's renowned anti-war track again, when he performed a cover of "Imagine" during a solo performance in Portugal. By bringing these words to life, Vedder illustrated that he will stand by his own words and beliefs, despite any criticism. Check out fan footage of the performance below.
