Tim Kasher, lead singer of
Cursive, is set to release
The Game of Monogamy October 5th on Saddle Creek. He says his solo work is "softer and poppier" than Cursive's music (check out their raw energy when Baeble caught them
live at Radio Room), and more arranged with "lush instrumentation" spanning a wide range of moods.
After testing out some of the songs at
open mics in his new hometown of Whitefish, Montana, Kasher enlisted two Cursive bandmates as well as Minus the Bear's Erin Tate and members of the Glacier National Symphony to play on the record, which deals with relationships and emotions (ugh), and "our collective sexual plight." He'll be headlining a show at the Tonic Room in Chicago on July 27th, with more tour news to be announced soon. Setlist for
The Game of Monogamy below. -
