It's a modern slice of blue eyed soul, disco, and smooth, Peter Gabriel-esque pop that
Francis and the Lights serve up with the release of their new album,
It'll Be Better. Due tomorrow via our friends at
Cantora, the album (by title alone) hints at a squinty bright future for the NYC outfit's leading man,
Francis Farewell Starlite.
He's already had Kanye fawn over him, has toured with Drake, and is but days away from reuniting with fellow Wesleyan alums, MGMT, for a string of dates (below).
In Francis and the Lights' video for "Darling, It's Alright", the band proceed with an appropriate treatment, choosing a stylish single shot approach that gives the illusion of an edit by way of the clever light design.

Jul 21 - Fox Theater w/ MGMT - Oakland, California
Jul 23 - Capitol Hill Block Party - Seattle, WA
Jul 24 - The Commodore w/ MGMT - Vancouver, BC

Aug 1 - Molson Amphitheater w/ Drake and Young Jeezy - Toronto, ON
Aug 12 - SOB's Headlining Show - New York, NY
Aug 17 - Radio City Music Hall w/ MGMT - New York, NY
