No Doubt's 'Settle Down' Is Somewhat Unsettling

Did you miss No Doubt? 'Cause judging from their marathon six minute brand spankin' new signle, No Doubt, indubitably, missed you. "Settle Down," the band's first new release since 2003's inescapable "It's My Life," is off their upcoming album Push and Shove, but it's not the happiest homecoming for the band that spawned '80s revival glam girl Gwen Stefani's solo success. See, not only is the song approximately twice as long as any generic pop tune really needs to be, it's also completely redundant. The hiccuping, offbeat "get get get" will stalk you for the rest of the day, that's a promise. Gwen sounds increasingly alien throughout the song, with lots of bizarre auto-tuning that undercuts her genuine talent. But maybe I'm just being a grump cause it's Tuesday. Here, judge for yourself:
[Ed. Note: I know I might get shot for this, but I've always been partial to "Ex-Girlfriend" over the seminal Tragic Kingdom tracks. A slam song about Gavin Rossdale (now her husband)? A video by Hype Williams? CAHM AHN! Classic.]
[But yeah, this new song blows.]
