Sunsquints are two guys from Chicago... which may surprise you after hearing the shimmering ebullience of "Basque".

Their Facebook page lists SALEM and Gucci Mane as influences and you can actually hear certain stylistic similarities here and there, but Sunsquints sound refreshingly different from the recent slew of bands crafting polyrhythmic, sunkissed pop. "Basque", despite its lo-fi aspects, sounds great. The ghostly aah-ing behind the spoken word introduction, the way the guitars ring out and ride the beat, the vocals, which are often indistinguishable, rising out of the mix to deliver a line like "I never thought I would see your eyes" &mdash as summer jams go, this one delivers in spades. -ben krusling
