After catching
Purity Ring's opening set for Dirty Projectors
on Tuesday, it was clear that the electro-pop duo had some serious electro-chops. "Fineshrine," from their forthcoming debut album "Shrines", convinces us further that Purity Ring is just going to keep getting bigger. The musical interaction between Corin Roddick's cutting and looping of Megan James's vocals keeps "Fineshrine" from being just another pop song.
The
Young Replicant directed video features a woman cutting off a guy's bandages, turning him into stone. Then they both ascend into a Lord Of The Rings-ish paradise. This is what happens when you take your bandages off before they're ready, kids. Just don't do it.
"Shrines" is out in the U.S. July 24th via
