Anybody can go to Target and pick themselves up a mass-produced Rolling Stones, Nirvana, or Beatles t-shirt for 15 bucks without even hearing the opening licks of "Start Me Up," or "Smells Like Teen Spirit." Suddenly, in their minds, they live, breath, eat, and sleep rock n roll. They're like, totally hardcore, man, and that's something you'll never understand.
But, its a different story to completely immerse yourself in rock n roll, and to truly embrace the live and die for rock and roll attitude as Marco With Love does. With a lineup made up of some of New York City's superior talent, Marco With Love adopts styles reminiscent of The Kinks and Revolver era Beatles, along with powerful live sets driven by the raw energy embodying definitive punk outfits like The Ramones and The New York Dolls.
Today, were proud to be premiering Marco With Love's title cut from their upcoming EP, Tidal Wave (due out July 17th). The group manages to present a contemporary take on rock n roll, all while paying homage to Laurel Canyon-esque, folk influenced rock of the 1960s and 70s. Their about section on their website proclaims their Foot stompin', Ass shaking, Hook laden, Indie Rock'n Roll style; a description that could not be any more on the money. Blending frontman Marco Argiros coarse, smoker's voice and a country inspired pedal steel guitar, Marco With Love encapsulates all of the ingredients of the Country Fried Rock hashtag on their SoundCloud page, producing that authentic rock n roll sound.
