Fresh-faced Ontarians Tokyo Police Club
dropped by Webster Hall's Studio Tuesday evening to play a short set for friends, bloggers, and anyone else lucky enough to get their name on the list. Though the Studio (which is supposedly 300-capacity) was hot, sweaty, cramped and sticky from the free PBR spilled all over the floor, TPC's set was loud, energetic, and thoroughly refreshing as they blasted through tracks from their new album, Champ
, and other classics from their brief, but quality oeuvre. And if you weren't squeezed somewhere in the mayhem, good news: we brought our cameras along to catch all the action.
Although there were a few technical mishaps -- ball-of-energy keyboardist Graham Wright had to abandon his microphone halfway through -- the half-hour or so that the band played went off without a hitch. -ben krusling
