We here at Baeble usually look forward to getting back into the swing of things on a Monday morning. But this morning brought with it some utterly tragic news from a band we here at Baeble think the world of.
NME.com is reporting that the body of John Pike drummer for the Syracuse NY based band,
Ra Ra Riot has been found after he disappeared near an after-show party in Fairhaven MA early Saturday morning.
A search on foot and by air was underway by 4PM Saturday, and Pikes body was found in seven feet of water in Buzzards Bay around 4PM Sunday.
This is truly saddening news to everyone here at Baeble. We remember Pike fondly from our
PUSH PLAY event back in February at
The Canal Room. We filmed both the
bands performance that evening, as well as interviewed them for our
Green Room series.
Baeble wants to extend its warmest sympathies to those who were deeply touched by Pike. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family, bandmates, friends, and fans.
