We wouldn't go that far, but NPR seems to think so. In an effort to predict the vice presidential candidates, they've likened the race to picking an opening act for your favorite band... and you can help decide which bands represent which candidate.
On the NPR Monitor Mix, one of the music blogs, writer Carrie Brownstein is hosting this curious little survey mixing music with politics. She suggests:
"...we momentarily view the current presidential election via a musical lens. After all, as connoisseurs of music, we are often judging--or at least discussing--the best albums, shows, or bands. Additionally, we often care when our favorite bands pick horrible, or simply incongruous, openers at their live shows. But when the combination of headliner and supporting act is harmonious, or so mismatched as to be genius, it can make for an incredible experience."
An interesting concept. We thought it was kind of cool... although we're now voting for whoever is represented by The Flaming Lips. They'd be awesome presidents.- joe puglisi
