New Music Video: First Aid Kit's 'Blue'

    From the way the doll-like sisters of First Aid Kit look and sing, they might be telling a sugar-sweet fairy tale. From the way their new music video for "Blue" looks, it could be a corny old-Hollywood movie. That is, of course, the unspoken punch line of First Aid Kit: their song "Blue" is as dark as a Roald Dahl book with its tale of loneliness and broken hearts, and the video matches their black humor. The girls are accompanied by a xylophone that seems to mock the song's ill-fated protagonist. It's odd, sad, and completely, utterly fresh. It's cool to see female artists who could be cute as a button poke-fun at those expectations. They've repackaged the wide-eyed fairy-girl indie musician, and made it their own, and they've got an awesome song and video to show for it. Check it out:
