The Dodos are adding new textures to their already elaborate brand of sound on their forthcoming, fifth studio album, Carrier - their first under the Polyvinyl name, due out August 27th. After hearing the fleeting first single "Confidence" last month, today we're experiencing newly discovered tones on "Substance".

The song opens with the prototypical Meric Long and Logan Kroeber intricate guitar and percussive theatrics, and halfway through, we're met with brassy brilliance. The complementary horns usher in Long's fiery chorus. Listen below.

Carrier is due out August 27th on Polyvinyl.
