Attention artists, labels, and everything in between: the music business is a crumbling old stationary structure, and there is an entire generation of upstarts trying to rebuild it into a spaceship. Part of that mindset is an event called the New Music Seminar in New York City, a three day collection of seminars and events aimed at educating, and stimulating an industry marred by changing models. Anyone interested in furthering their career, or knowing more about the dynamic workings of their favorite acts, sources and labels can also attend to learn and participate in the conversation.
A variety of programming will occur, including TED-style talks, networking events, and more. Speakers include people from all walks of the biz; Pandora, Billboard, CD Baby, Jambase, Sound Exchange, and many more. See a full list of events here. Register here before July 16th and get the discounted rate of $175 for the seminar.
