Converse (of canvas sneaker fame) has put together an original collaboration called "Three Artists. One Song" (a sequel to their previous series, "Two Girls. One Cup" (kidding)) featuring West Coast-repping Bethany Cosentino of Best Coast, controlled substance enthusiast Kid Cudi, and Vampire Weekend multi-instrumentalist Rostam Batmanglij.
The last attempt to curate a genre-hopping collab (featuring Pharell, Santigold and Julian Casablancas) was a little awkward to say the least so I've got my fingers crossed for this one. The song was kind of like when you reach for a glass of Sprite and you're really expecting it to taste like Sprite, but then you drink it and it's actually water, which normally tastes fine, but this time it doesn't because you thought it would be Sprite, so when you drink it you're like "Wow I am both confused and disappointed".
Anyway, the acts have released the first video from the series, a two-minute look at Bethany Cosentino touring in Hamburg and talking about the beach. After two more of these video profiles, the song will be released for free download in July. -ben krusling
