Here we go, music lovers;
Feed The Animals is out today as a pay-what-you-want, and is it worth paying anything for the latest set of
Girl Talk mashing? We think: of course!
If you liked
Night Ripper, well then this is for you. It's the same format, despite
Greg mentioning that he was going to dwell on songs longer... which he does, but still with the beat switching speed of an attention deficient DJ. And like
Night Ripper, the CD is one long track, seamlessly moving from one track to the next, with both moments of "wow" as well as "well, this is ok." Expect a full review in the coming weeks.
Regardless, it's a party album that doesn't stop moving from start to finish. And the "wow" moments are really crazy, using beats and vocals from so many different spots, it's impossible to know them all. The most interesting part of
Feed The Animals is the pay-what-you-want... if you opt to pay nothing, you will have to explain yourself via a multiple choice prompt. I guess
Greg wanted more of a comprehensive explanation than
Thom did for those who opt to get it for free-ninety-nine (to quote
Kanye, whose beats make a track, but whose voice appears to be absent). And more than one
Radiohead groove made the cut as well... interesting. Only
Girl Talk can pull this stuff off. Or, he is the only one with the guts/resources to do it... for now.-
